At Maarakool we strive to be safe, supportive and inclusive. We do this by providing opportunities to help improve our student’ s sense of belonging and their skills in understanding themselves and others, managing relationships and problem solving.
Maarakool Primary School has implemented the Smiling Mind Primary Program, which is an evidence-based program designed to support the social and emotional skills development in children and overall mental health.
School chaplaincy services form part of the wellbeing and pastoral care services provided at Maarakool. Pastoral care is the practice of looking after the personal needs of students, not just their academic needs, through general support and advice. The chaplain can assist with the development of programs to support the emotional wellbeing of all students.
Maarakool Primary School will have access to a School Psychologist who will support the work of the school in enhancing student achievement, engagement and wellbeing. They apply their expertise in mental health, learning, human development, behaviour and school systems.
