Performing Arts

Maarakool Primary School offers Performing Arts lessons with a focus on Music and Drama. We hold a core belief that the Performing Arts connects community, expresses where words cannot, enhances neural connections and academic skills, and are valued for the innate qualities that set them apart as art form.

Over the coming years, students will have increasing opportunities to be involved in performing arts ensembles and events. Maarakool Primary School offers Choir and students perform throughout the year. We partner with Instrumental Music School Service (IMSS) to offer a small group lessons and ensembles, commencing from Year 3. 

Our Performing Arts program, enables all students to showcase their unique talents, develop their skills in music and drama, as well as build their confidence, public speaking, collaboration, empathy, resilience, problem solving and memory – plus have a whole heap of fun while they are at it!

Science

Our science program sparks curiosity and inspires young minds to explore the world around them. Through hands-on experiments, exciting discoveries, and real-world problem-solving, students develop critical thinking skills and a lifelong love of scientific learning. Using the expertise of staff and local community, we infuse Aboriginal Perspectives into our science curriculum by integrating culture with hands on learning.

Physical Education

Our sports program at Maarakool integrates the research-based Kiddo program to develop students’ physical literacy, fundamental movement skills, and sport-specific abilities in a structured and engaging environment. Partnering with Sporting Schools, we will also offer high-quality tennis clinics led by expert coaches to foster technical skills and a love for the game. Throughout the year, students refine their abilities in running, jumping, throwing, and sport-specific drills, ensuring they are well-prepared for sporting carnivals and lifelong participation in physical activity.
